Police issue warning after spate of thefts from cars

By James Hind

Kent police have issued the reminder that residence lock their cars after a string of thefts from unlocked cars across the Medway area.

Reports of thefts have been from all across Medway with no particular pattern. The only similarity being that in each case the vehicle has been left unlocked by the owner.

Kent Police Inspector Craig West of the Medway Community Safety Unit said: “‘It is not a regular occurrence in Medway for thieves to smash car windows, however we are seeing a rise in the opportunist thief taking advantage of unlocked vehicles”.
